Villamartin is situated about 8kms south of Torrevieja on the Costa Blanca. It previously hosted the Mediterranean Open and is probably the best known course in the area. It is a medium difficulty course comprising of scenic fairways and excellent greens.
The Clubhouse and pool provide wonderful surroundings for discussing the blobs, pars and birdies! The place oozes class as soon as you wander through the entrance gardens complete with fountain and statue of an angelic lady golfer. You won't be disappointed by the 6037 metre, par 72 course either. There are some great holes and plenty of expensive eye-catching mansions on the courses perimeter.
Within a 5 minute drive of Villamartin there are 2 more courses Campoamor and Las Ramblas.

Campoamor is a course for the very big hitters. It has the longest par 3 of any course in the area and is located amongst the Orange Groves. The front and back 9 provide contrasting scenery, with the back 9 being particularly beautiful. The newly opened Clubhouse has superb facilities and their tapas are not to be missed! The Pro Shop is very large and offers a wide variety of clothing and equipment. Prior to playing you can practice on the driving range and 2 Putting greens.
The layout of this course has been adapted both to the professional player and the amateur. The fairways are wide and long but the greens and the inclination of the fairways are the big challenges. This course is highly recommended.

Las Ramblas is also owned by Villamartin and is known as Villamartin 2 but it offers a very different golfing experience. It is 1km from Campoamor and the holes are designed so that in most cases you have to hit over ravines. Remember to bring a lot of golf balls for this course. However the majority of people who play this course enjoy the challenging experience and want to play it again and again. The Clubhouse facilities are smaller than any other courses but the setting and friendly atmosphere are second to none and the outside terrace overlooks the 18th green.
It is located between two ravines on the shore of the Mediterranean, next to a luxury housing estate, this course requires the player to use great precision when hitting the ball, as both fairways and greens are narrow and demanding. One minute you're trying to steer clear of trees and shrubbery and the next you're battling to avoid barren rock outcrops.

The golf club lies in natural surroundings of great beauty and with fantastic views. Its facilities are open to those people who want to play golf in the heart of nature while being able to enjoy the beaches, sailing clubs and a host of other facilities and services just a few minutes away.
It is the newest course in the province of Alicante and while it has been open to the public for some weeks it has not yet been inaugurated officially.
La Finca golf course is situated at the foot of Mount Escotera, in the municipality of Algorfa, right in the heart of the Segura region.
Designed to host top tournaments, La Finca golf course has the greatest variety of greens of any course on the Costa Blanca, ranging in size from very large to very small.
In addition, the course has a reserve hole so that, in the event that one of the holes has to be closed off unexpectedly, players are still able to complete a full 18-hole round.
Several lakes with running water and reed beds along the course add beauty and difficulty to the game, and have made the course the home of a wide variety of migratory water birds, such as ducks and egrets, while the interior of the course is home to olive and palm trees, thus creating a beautiful backdrop of vegetation with a distinctly Mediterranean flavour.
Golf Courses in and
There are 4 golf courses in Torrevieja which attract golfers throughout the year; Club De Golf Villamartin, Club de Golf Las Ramblas De Orihuela, Real Club De Golf Campoamor and La Finca in Algorfa.
Torrevieja is the perfect place for a short (or long) golf break. There are three courses all within 20 minutes of the town centre. You can play a game of golf at any of the three 18-hole golf courses near Torrevieja - Villamartin, Campoamor or Las Ramblas.
The best months for Golf here are between September and May. The courses are playable in the summer months but it is very hot and buggy hire is recommended. All the Golf Courses in the area subscribe to the Slope Index system which means your handicap varies according to the difficulty of the course that you are playing. Handicap certificates are sometimes requested but this is rare. If you want PGA tuition this can be organised.
Note: you cannot wear spikes in Spain, so please have them changed before playing.
